The week of May 6-10 is “Teacher Appreciation Week!” If you are interested in the career field of Biology and/or Public Health, you are welcome to join our “Career Chat” session located in the Career Center following morning service on Sunday May 5th. This session will be led by our own Arlene Brown who holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Masters of Public Health in Epidemiology. She has gained experience from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and Emory University School of Medicine, Infectious Disease Division. Arlene currently works as the Lead Teacher for the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice. Light refreshments will be served. We hope to see you there!
Our Women’s 2nd Saturday Fellowship for the month of May will take place here at The Point on Saturday the 11th at 10 am. It will be a Big Hat Brunch. All ladies are asked to come in spring attire with BIG hats in all colors. The cost of the event is $10.00 per person. HCT’s Health Professionals Ministry is offering a Heartsaver CPR and AED class on May 18 from 9am – 12 noon. The class is limited to 10 people and the cost is $35. Bro. Covington will be at the welcome center on May 5 after morning worship to receive your payment and give you your study material.

The Point Family Resource Center Youth Enrichment Program is currently taking applications. YEP is a summer employment program for teens 14 -18. The program provides a week of paid training in professionalism/soft business skills, and life skills. Then for 5 additional weeks, participants work with nonprofit organizations or small businesses for up to 15 hours per week and attend a 2-hour weekly group. The training week is June 3 – June 7 and the work program runs through July 13. YEP is also looking for small businesses and nonprofit organizations to serve as work locations for our teens.
